Dinder National Park is a national park and biosphere reserve in eastern Sudan, and is connected to Ethiopia's Alatash National Park.
Covering a surface area of 6.475 km2, Dinder National Park is one of the largest in the world. Wildlife includes lions, Giraffes, leopards, kudus, bushbuck and antelope together with several species of birds such as guinea fowl, vultures, pelicans, storks, king-fishers and the beatify crown cranes. The best time to visit is from December to April.
The Southern Region is characterized by green forests, open parkland, water falls and treeless swamps abounding with birds and wild animals including the almost extinct shoe-bill.
