All about the Wadi Halfa to Khartoum – 8 Days (4th – 12th January).

Make your way from Wadi Halfa on the Egyptian border all the way down to Khartoum, exploring along the road.

What is included in this tour?Items that are included in the cost of tour price.
  • 4×4 car rent with A/C.
  • Pick up from Wadi Halfa and airport transfers.
  • Fuel and road fees.
  • Tour Guide fees.  Please note that a team of tour guides work for Real Sudan and therefore tours guided by Samir are dependent upon his availability.  All RS tour guides are fluent in English and university graduates with degrees in Sudan history.
  • Entry fees.
  • All meals outside Khartoum.  Breakfast normally consists of eggs, cheese, and jam.  Lunch is a light meal; normally tuna, cheese and chips.  Dinner is the main meal;  normally consisted of soup, cooked veges, chicken or meat.
  • Bottled water, all hot and cold drinks are included.
  • All Accommodations (7 nights).  1-night stay in Khartoum (Corinthian).   6 nights camping or local guest houses outside Khartoum.  Camping or staying in a local guest house is to be decided by the tour guide after consulting with you.
  • Invitation letter, traveling permits and photo permission.
  • Registration fees.

  • Visa.  We can arrange for a visa on arrival for an extra charge.
  • Tips and gratuities.
  • Any other thing not mentioned in the included section.

Note: This itinerary is more expensive than all the others that start and finish in Khartoum;  adding an extra cost of between 30 USD – 50 USD per day per person, depending on the number of people in the tour.

  1. Day1 - 4th January Wadi Halfa
    • Arrive in Wadi Halfa in the Sudanese side.
    • Transfer to Sai Island via Abri town and market.
  2. Day2 - 5th January Sai Island
    • Explore Sai Island attractions in the morning and travel to Wawa village.
    • Cross the Nile to Soleb and visit the temple in the afternoon (visit its temple).
    • Cross to the east side and night in Wawa in a local guest house.

    Note: In case if any delay happens while crossing the border; visit of Soleb Temple will be shifted to the following day.   In this case we might cancel one of the less important stops (such as Tombos)

  3. Day3 - 6th January Kerma
    • From Wawa village travel to Kerma via Tombos and the 3rd Cataract.
    • Arrive in Kerma and visit its attractions.
    • Spend the night in Kerma in a local guest house.
  4. Day4 - 7th January Old Dongola
    • Kerma to Old Dongola.
    • Explore its ruins
    • Camp overnight or stay in a local guest house.
  5. Day5 - 8th January Karima
    • Old Dongola to Karima Via El Kurru cemetery.
    • Explore the temple ruins in the afternoon and hike Jebel Barkal for the sunset view.
    • Night stay in Karima in a local guest house.
  6. Day6 - 9th January Bayuda Desert
    • Karima.  Ghazali.  The Petrified Forest.
    • Crossing Bayuda desert.
    • Arrive in Meroe and camp in the Pyramids field overnight.
  7. Day7 - 10th January Meroe
    • Explore Meroe Pyramids Ruins and visit the Royal City.
    • Drive to Naga and Musawwarat.
    • Arrive in Khartoum in the afternoon and attend the Folk Show of Darwish dance at Hamed El Nile Mausoleum.
    • Night stay in hotel.

    Note: In case if the rain season started (normally start in June), it will not be possible to visit Naga and Musawwarat.

     

  8. Day8 - 11th January Khartoum
    • Khartoum historical and culture sites;  National Museum.  Confluence of the Nile.  City tour.  Mahdi Mausoleum.  Khalifa house.  Om Dorman market.

    In Friday: Attend the Folk Show of the Darwish dance at Hamed El Nile Mausoleum.
